The History of H.C.A.T.

Founded in 2003, HCAT is a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to assisting the local cat population in Hamtramck by providing food, water, spaying and nurturing, medical care, emergency care, shelters, fosters and for many, forever homes.

We have so many animals on the streets and alleys of Hamtramck that could really use your help. We promise to continue our work 365 days a year.

Winter is an especially difficult time of the year for homeless animals. With your help and generosity we can continue to help them survive some very difficult circumstances. "Mary", pictured on the right, needed emergency surgery to amputate her severely damaged tail, without the funding she would have had to be euthanized. She now has a forever home!

There are dozens of stories just like this one we encounter throughout the year. Please consider a tax deductible donation by giving to Hamtramck Cat Assistance Team, HCAT.
